ABOUT US

CID1 & CID2 EXTRACTION BOOTHS & CID2 HOODS

HAL Extraction provides the safest and most cost-effective modular CID1 and CID2 extraction solutions for plant oil extraction facilities.

HAL was established in 2016 with the goal of designing and manufacturing products dedicated to set industry standards for safety in the plant oil extraction industry. Our patented technology was developed by industrial hygienists and electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, ensuring decades of experience backing product development, research, and design.

We maintain an industry-leading position in product listings and certifications by working side-by-side with organizations such as UL, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, and PSI (Pressure Safety Inspectors), the cannabis industry's leading engineering peer review organization. Our products are designed to meet applicable NFPA, NEC, and ICC codes as well as fire codes in CA, OR, AZ, and WA.

OUR FOUNDER

LINN HAVELICK, CIH

Linn Havelick, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) has had a long career in process chemistry, environmental health & safety, laboratories, and hazardous materials.

The idea for the HAL Extraction Booth spawned from the series of explosions that plagued Colorado extraction facilities following the rollout of legal recreational cannabis.

When Linn, started working with the plant oil extraction industry, he saw a need for a turn-key extraction solution that would provide a safe working environment while meeting regulatory and code requirements. He developed the HAL Extraction Booth System to provide business managers and entrepreneurs with affordable solutions to the rapidly evolving challenges of the plant oil extraction industry.

Linn started his technical career in the Extractive Metallurgy Department of AMAX Research and Development Laboratory in the late 1970s. At the end of 2013, the State of Colorado created a requirement for Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH) to review cannabis extraction facilities. As a CIH, Linn is using a background in extraction and safety to help move the plant oil extraction industry into the modern, legal, and safe world. He is currently working with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) on listing and certification criteria for Canada.

Since 2006, Linn has traveled to Eastern Europe many times to work with Romanian universities to provide workshops in environmental health and safety topics. His work contributes to fostering professional connections between occupational health professionals in Romania and Colorado.

Linn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Master of Public Administration, both from the University of Colorado at Denver. He has been certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene since 1988.
